Welcome to
Boy Scouts of America
"Be Prepared"
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. The Scouting programs (Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing) contribute to the healthy development of youth through: · Strong personal values and character · A positive sense of self-worth and usefulness · Caring and nurturing relationships with parents, other adults, and peers · A desire to learn
· Productive/creative use of time · Social adeptness. Drugs: A Deadly Game is the drug abuse prevention awareness program of the Boy Scouts of America. It is a drug education experience designed to stimulate discussion in small groups and classroom settings and to get children talking—and learning—about the dangers of drug abuse. The Drugs: A Deadly Game brochure Take a Stand Against DRUGS! is revised regularly. More than 17 million copies of Drugs: A Deadly Game brochures for youth have been distributed. Drugs: A Deadly Game is intended for all youth, male and female, whether or not they are involved in Scouting. The National Council of the Boy Scouts of America supports more than 300 local councils that provide quality youth programs, including Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing.
