Welcome to
National Retired Teachers Association
"AARP's Educator Community"
NRTA, AARP's Educator Community, is the nation's largest organization serving the interests and needs of working and retired educators age 50 years and over. NRTA has a nationwide network of state and local Retired Education Associations (REAs), and over one million members. NRTA members include education professionals and personnel from all levels and sectors of public and private education. In partnership with its network of state and local Retired Educator Associations (REAs), NRTA supports community service activities that parlay educators' commitment to serving their communities. The NRTAWith Our Youth! program provides opportunities for retired educators and youth to work together to address the needs of youth and the broader community. State and local retired educators association volunteer leaders use the resources provided by NRTA to organize local self-sustaining direct service projects for and with youth. The program provides five key resources for youth: an on-going relationship with a caring adult; a healthy start in life; safe places to learn and grow; a marketable skill upon graduation; and, an opportunity to serve in their communities. We have dedicated ourselves to ensure that youth have the five key resources to be productive members of their communities. State and local REAs serve over 500,000 youth in more than 1,000 communities annually.
