Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a global service organization of executives in business and the professions working together, across political and social boundaries, to advance the status of women worldwide.  Over 1,250 Zonta Clubs with over 33,000 members - Zontians - are in 67 countries worldwide. Individuals join a Zonta Club, and Zonta Clubs, in turn, belong to Zonta International. Individual Zonta Clubs select, fund and participate in community projects fundamental to advancing the status of women. They promote women’s economic self-sufficiency, political equality, access to education, health, and the elimination of violence against women and children in their communities. Zontians commit hundreds of thousands of service hours and millions of dollars to a wide range of community services that strengthen and improve the well being of women and address the mission of Zonta International. The Z Club andGolden Z Club program are one of Zonta International’s longest-running programs. Z Clubs and Golden Z Clubs help high school, college and university students develop leadership skills, promote career exploration and encourage members to participate in community, school and international service projects. With the help of experienced Zonta sponsors, who provide resources, information and guidance, Z Club members (high school students) and Golden Z Club members (college or university students) work to improve their society and the world.
