The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is a federation consisting of affiliated organizations providing assistance to those in need. Our humanitarian commitment, to prevent and alleviate human suffering, is a task with which young people easily identify themselves. Red Cross and Red Crescent Youth make up a substantial part of the Movement's membership worldwide. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has regularly recognized the importance of this group. The Youth Commission promotes the implementation of the Youth Policy and Strategy and seeks youth opinions worldwide to ensure that these latter are considered at the governance level of the Movement. Youth networks have been established to encourage cooperation between youth members in different regions. We provide links to find out more about how these networks are made up within different regions and for useful links including those serving Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe. Red Cross and Red Crescent youth are being encouraged to focus particularly involved with issues of HIV/AIDS and reducing discrimination. We provide listings containing contact details for the youth representatives of national affiliated Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, along with the main youth activities and the numbers of members and volunteers.
