Welcome to
YWCA of the USA
"Empowering Women and Girls"
In communities across the United States, YWCAs continue to work to improve social and economic conditions for all people. As the nation's oldest and largest national multi-cultural women's movement, the YWCA is comprised of over 300 local associations, regional leadership and a national office in Washington D.C. - - who all work together, across the nation work to strengthen our voices in the nation’s capital and in state and local governments. The YWCA USA is a women's membership movement nourished by its roots in the Christian faith and sustained by the richness of many beliefs and values. Strengthened by diversity, the YWCA draws together members who strive to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership, and power in order to attain a common vision: peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people. Racial Justice and Women's Economic Advancement are the Hallmark Programs of the YWCA. We not only intend to raise awareness of these issues, we intend to affect real change. The YWCA supports quality, affordable and accessible early childhood education that will empower adults and children towards economic and emotional self-sufficiency. The YWCA supports quality, affordable and accessible early childhood education that assists adults in moving towards economic independence and provides children with culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate activities that enable children to succeed in school.
