"We Serve"

Lions clubs offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community. Today with more than 46,000 clubs in 193 countries and geographical areas, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our global community. Our programs are continually changing to meet new needs and greater demands, but our mission has never wavered: "We Serve." The mission of Lions Opportunities for Youth is: To provide the young people of the world with opportunities for achievement, learning, contribution and service, individually and collectively, through sponsorship of activities identified as best practices in the field of youth development. Youth committees are organized at the club, district and multiple district levels. The committee includes chairpersons from all Lions youth programs.Membership in a Leo Club (sponsored by a local Lions club) provides young people with a chance to excel, to develop character traits, and to receive recognition for their contributions to the community. The Lions-Quest program, a major youth service initiative of the Lions Clubs International (LCI) Foundation, provides curricula, training, and services to support adults in helping young people deal with the complex issues they face every day, including pressures to use drugs. Components of the Lions Quest curriculum includes like skills, character education, positive prevention, service-learning, social and emotional learning, and enhanced academic performance.
