National Panhellenic Conference

"Where there is Unitiy, There is Strength"

The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) supports its women's fraternities by promoting values, education, leadership, friendships, cooperation and citizenship. NPC is an umbrella organization for 26 inter/national women's fraternities and sororities. Members are represented on over 620 college and university campuses in the United States and Canada and in over 4,600 alumnae associations, making up over 3.6 million sorority women in the world. NPC has joined other related organizations in sponsoring the Interfraternal Task Force on Alcohol-Free Housing. The purpose of the Task Force is to encourage the growth of the alcohol-free housing movement within men's fraternities on college and university campuses. The NPC Focus concept is to develop educational and leadership programs designed to enhance the life skills of collegiate members. Current programs include a focus on drug education, self-esteem, and positive confrontation. Sorority Action For Education (SAFE) is an interactive program that addresses the dangers of club and recreational drug use and prescription drug misuse. It includes an educational video or DVD, workshop materials, and a facilitator's guide. The video/DVD contains three moving testimonials from college age women who used club drugs, had negative experiences and are willing to talk about them. Materials also reference websites for up-to-date statistical information. The SAFE program was developed by the Panhellenic Drug Education Consortium with the belief that groups working together can do more to provide broad-based, cutting edge educational materials than any one member group can do on its own. These programs have been sponsored by our Foundation.
