The National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) comprises the who's who in the youth sports industry. NCYS boasts 163 members from organizations who serve more than 52 million boys and girls participating in organized youth sports throughout the United States. The National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) is representing the youth sports industry to advance the values of participation; and educate and develop leaders. NCYS’ objectives include: Develop and share among members and others education, information and leadership skills; Encourage members to promote the participation by all youth in fun and healthy physical activities according to their interests and abilities; and Promote universal recognition that organized youth sports can develop positive attributes including healthier lifestyles, self-esteem, fair play and good citizenship. The National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) is proud to introduce the 2005 HERSHEY'S STRIVE Awards. These annual awards recognize coaches, administrators and volunteers - from hometown communities throughout the United States - who have demonstrated a heartfelt passion, an enthusiastic commitment and a contagious spirit to help kids succeed in youth sports activities. Through their actions and professionalism, they demonstrate to young people that Sports Teach Respect, Initiative, Values and Excellence.
